Free Polazzo
Free Polazzo - President and Process Evangelist
Free Polazzo is co-founder of DSD Business Solutions of Georgia along with Bonnie McDaniel. Free manages the overall strategic direction of the company and participates in day to day operations ensuring an ongoing commitment to excellence in performance, technical expertise and participation in the community.
Free's love of process led him to assist in the design of the MAS 90 General Ledger module back in the 1980s when it ran on an Apple III. Coming from the minicomputer software business, he could see that there was a need for easy to use accounting software that would serve the small and medium size business community. Free has also managed a company that was an early Authorized Reseller and Master Developer for Sage's MAS 90 product. His industry expertise includes distributors, not for profit organizations, service companies and "made to order" manufacturers.
Prior to specializing in business software, Free has worked as a systems manager, systems analyst, controller, financial analyst, accounting manager, internal audit manager and external auditor. Free has also taught accounting at the senior and junior college level as well as mathematics at the high school and junior high school level.
Free earned a BA degree from Queens College of the City University of New York; and MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Michigan and earned his Certified Public Accountant license in Ohio.
Part of Free's service to his community is as co-founder of West Georgians for Clean Air; as a founding supporter of Men Stopping Violence; and as a long time volunteer with the American Friends Service Committee. Free co-founded Uplifting People, a recidivism reduction program here in Georgia and is working to bring that crime reduction process to Douglas County where he lives.
Of all his business accomplishments, Free is most proud that DSD of GA's staff can find work that is joyful while also being able to help to reduce some of the pain in the world. Free also enjoys time with his three grandsons and his daily walks with Tashi, the family dog.
